WHO WE ARE
Linda Tillotson
In 2008, I began Pilates to decrease chronic lower back pain and strengthen my core muscles. A year later, with my lower back issues resolved, my love for Pilates and my enthusiasm for teaching others led me into a training program to become a Certified Pilates Instructor. I was trained extensively in Pilates through the Balanced Body University Program and completed a 500 hour certification with Balanced Body in 2012. I continued my education and received the Pilates Method Alliance certification in 2013. The gift of Pilates has changed my life forever, and I loves sharing the principles of Pilates!

I was introduced to the Pilates Method in 2005, and quickly developed a passion and true appreciation for the body awareness that this low impact exercise brought into my life. In 2012, I decided to pursue a career as a Pilates instructor, pursuing my training through Balanced Body. Pilates changed my approach to fitness and life so completely, that I left my corporate career behind and in August 2015 made the decision to open my own studio, Pilates On Western. I truly enjoy working with people and passing my knowledge of Pilates and its form. In 2017, I completed my Pilates Reformer NETA certification. In 2018, I bridged to BASI PILATES, including Foundation, and Graduate training.

I was first introduced to Pilates mat work while studying theatre in college, and I fell in love with the method. After graduating with a BA in Theatre Arts, I spent time performing in the Seattle theatre community and looked to continue my Pilates practice. I discovered the Vitality Pilates teacher training program, dove in, and became comprehensively certified in 2009. I have loved teaching inspired movement ever since. I also enjoy spending time with my hubby and 2 precious kids, and I look forward to helping you fall in love with Pilates, too!

I received my 450 hr. Comprehensive Pilates Certification in 2008 from Core Conditioning Physical Therapy and Pilates thru Balanced Body University in Los Angeles, as well as attending continuing education workshops regularly. I have taught and worked with a wide array of clientele at studios in Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, PA, and Oahu, HI.
I studied Musical Theater and Dance at the University of Central Oklahoma before relocating to Los Angeles to dance, perform, and teach professionally. After dancing with a touring contemporary modern dance company I found Pilates helped me recover from injuries, moving, and strong. Now here I am back in my hometown of OKC where I am excited to share all my movement knowledge in a supportive and joyful environment.

Six years ago my journey with yoga began at a time when I really needed it the most. Instead of taking the traditional route, I gave yoga a chance after hearing positive praises from friends and family. My life was changed by a gifted instructor who helped me love the journey of healing. Now, I find purpose in guiding students through their own practice.
I earned my 200-hour teacher training in 2019 while living in Los Angeles. I recently expanded on my education and training by completing my 500hr RYT as of spring 2021, and I will continue to pursue more education. I enjoy teaching vinyasa and yin classes. I put emphasis on breathing as it is the best tool for mind/body awareness and connection. The flows are simple, yet aligned and powerful. Breath is a beautiful and fluid action to focus and hone in on, so I value and instill in all the classes I partake in.

Prior to 2010, I found myself in the random yoga class here or there for almost a decade before settling into a practice of my own. In early 2015, a very dear friend and teacher offered to introduce me to Ashtanga yoga. I was instantly captivated with the practice and everything that it has to offer. Soon after, I was accepted into the Ashtanga Yoga Studio’s teacher training program and completed my 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification with Andrew Eppler in March of 2016. Moving together is beautiful, and sharing your breath with others is truly something special. Yoga, for me, is a time where one can experience true self-evaluation, self-exploration, and self-realization.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma City and have a lifelong love of movement. I received my BFA in Modern Dance Performance from the University of Oklahoma where I was first introduced to Pilates. In 2013, I became certified in Xtend Barre and started my Pilates training. She is comprehensively trained in Pilates through Balanced Body University.
In my spare time, I enjoy running in circles, chasing my toddler son Shepard, saying (yelling) "NO", and day dreaming about mimosas and naps.
