WHO WE ARE
Linda Tillotson
In 2008, I began Pilates to decrease chronic lower back pain and strengthen my core muscles. A year later, with my lower back issues resolved, my love for Pilates and my enthusiasm for teaching others led me into a training program to become a Certified Pilates Instructor. I was trained extensively in Pilates through the Balanced Body University Program and completed a 500 hour certification with Balanced Body in 2012. I continued my education and received the Pilates Method Alliance certification in 2013. The gift of Pilates has changed my life forever, and I loves sharing the principles of Pilates!

I was introduced to the Pilates Method in 2005, and quickly developed a passion and true appreciation for the body awareness that this low impact exercise brought into my life. In 2012, I decided to pursue a career as a Pilates instructor, pursuing my training through Balanced Body. Pilates changed my approach to fitness and life so completely, that I left my corporate career behind and in August 2015 made the decision to open my own studio, Pilates On Western. I truly enjoy working with people and passing my knowledge of Pilates and its form. In 2017, I completed my Pilates Reformer NETA certification. In 2018, I bridged to BASI PILATES, including Foundation, and Graduate training.

I was first introduced to Pilates mat work while studying theatre in college, and I fell in love with the method. After graduating with a BA in Theatre Arts, I spent time performing in the Seattle theatre community and looked to continue my Pilates practice. I discovered the Vitality Pilates teacher training program, dove in, and became comprehensively certified in 2009. I have loved teaching inspired movement ever since. I also enjoy spending time with my hubby and 2 precious kids, and I look forward to helping you fall in love with Pilates, too!

With my background in Pilates, Xtend Barre, and bootcamp, I will push you into a butt-burning workout. I have always had an active lifestyle and love to share the physical and mental benefits that come with exercising.
As you get to know me, you'll find that I am always up for a challenge. I enjoy running, Pilates, TRX, and any workout that makes me sweat. I can take the pain just as much as I can dish it out…in a great way! My workouts are inventive, playful, and uplifting. My wit and humor not only make my classes fun, but also make the time fly by!

Prior to 2010, I found myself in the random yoga class here or there for almost a decade before settling into a practice of my own. In early 2015, a very dear friend and teacher offered to introduce me to Ashtanga yoga. I was instantly captivated with the practice and everything that it has to offer. Soon after, I was accepted into the Ashtanga Yoga Studio’s teacher training program and completed my 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification with Andrew Eppler in March of 2016. Moving together is beautiful, and sharing your breath with others is truly something special. Yoga, for me, is a time where one can experience true self-evaluation, self-exploration, and self-realization.

To me yoga is a playful, evolving, energizing practice. Yoga has brought consistency, self-realization, and confidence into my life. I teach yoga because I want to share a positive way of meditating and moving. My hope is that yoga will make an impact on your life, whether it be from attending one class, or from a lifetime of classes.
In 2016 I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali with the Santosha Yoga Institute. In addition I am certified in prenatal, postnatal, teen, and children’s yoga and have training in yin yoga. I have taught in yoga studios, beer gardens, and regular gardens!

In 2016, I began practicing yoga and instantly recognized the numerous healing benefits yoga had to offer. I am honored to teach my students how to set their intentions for how they want to be, live, and show up in the world. I earned my YTT 200 through Soul Yoga specializing in Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga.
